TheRef(tm) Version 4.30 (TheRef43.ZIP) 1 Good Grief!...Has it really been that long since 4.21 hit the streets? OK, so I've had it easy for too long! So here we are, a new version going out the door. Lots of little changes to make TheRef(tm) better. I'd still like to hear any suggestions, and even any gripes! Tell me what you want, or what you think I did right or wrong. How can it be improved? There are a LOT of drives and Controllers out there that I don't have listed... Do you have the manual or the data sheet for any? That info may never get entered without your help! A few people have contributed to TheRef(tm) by sending info and they are listed on the Contributors Page. bob < PRINTING > Portrait: If have a Laserjet II, please verify that it is set to graphics mode. This is internal font #01 or #02. If you have a Laserjet IID, use internal font #24. These settings will give excellent results with the standard page length of 60 lines. If you have a Dot-Matrix printer, it will default to 66 lines per page. However, you may have to set it to graphics mode at the command line. Since this varies from printer to printer, you should consult your owner's manual for guidance. Landscape: If you have a Laserjet II please verify that it is set to graphics mode. Since a compressed font is required, choose internal font #21, or #22. Also you must reset the page length to 73 lines. (16.6 pitch, 8.5 point size). For the Laserjet IID, use internal font #27. If you have a Dot-Matrix printer, you will have to use a Sideways(tm) type printing utility. Select a letter size of 4x11 matrix ("very tiny" in Sideways) that equates to a 73 line page. You may also want to select "doublestrike" to enhance the readability. A new addition to TheRef(tm) comes from Steven Case. He has provided 3 files that will automatically set up a Laserjet or QMS PostScript printer for Portrait or Landscape mode for making a hardcopy of TheRef(tm). Steven's instructions are included in LAYOUTS.ZIP as the README file. :) -bob- < FILES INCLUDED > 2 The following files are included in this version: CTLREF43.LAN ......
