Instructions
• Divide the class into pairs.
Give a copy of Worksheet A to
Student A and Worksheet B to
Student B in each pair. They
should not look at each other’s
worksheets.
• Ask students to complete the
dialogue in the story with the
words in the box. They should
work individually.
• When students have finished,
ask them to check their answers
by reading out the dialogue
with their classmate. You can
ask volunteers to act out the
dialogue.
Instructions
• Give a copy of the worksheet to
each student. Ask them to look
at the objects and the arrows
in the pictures and complete
the questions with
this

that.
Elicit the first question onto the
board as an example.
• When students have finished,
they work in pairs and take it
in turns to ask the questions to
each other, eg Student A asks
the first question, Student B
the second one and so on. They
should answer the questions

using the words in
the box.
• Check the answers with
different pairs of students
acting out the dialogues.
Variation
• Students cover the box with the
words and use their own ideas
to answer the questions about
the objects. Then they look at
the box to see if they guessed
correctly.
Instructions
• Introduce the activity by telling
students that they are at
a youth club and they are going
to act out a dialogue between
the secretary and a child who
wants to join the club. Divide
the class into pairs. Give a copy
of Worksheet A to Student
A and Worksheet B to Student
B in each pair. They should not
look at each other’s worksheets.
• Elicit onto the board the
questions students need to ask
to complete the form. Then in
each pair Student A asks the
questions to Student B, who
gives the answers from their
rolecard. When they have
finished, they change roles.
Remind students to ask

• When students have finished,
ask them to compare their
worksheets and check if they
completed the forms correctly.

Instructions
• Divide the class into pairs and
give a copy of the worksheet to
each pair. Ask students take it
in turns to connect the figures
to the written forms by drawing
lines, using a different coloured
pencil to their classmate’s. If
they are right-handed they
should draw with their left hand
and vice versa.
• The game finishes when one
student draws a line that crosses
or touches another line. Their
classmate then wins the game.
Instructions
• Introduce the activity by telling
students that they are going to
go shopping. Divide students
into groups of five and give
each group a set of shopping
lists. Each group should choose
a shop assistant and the rest of
the students are customers.
• Ask the customers to pick
one list each and to label the
pictures, eg
an ice cream, two
apples.
Monitor and correct
their work.
• Arrange desks so that each
shop assistant is behind their
‘counter’ and the customers
wait in a queue. Elicit the
language the shop assistants
and the customers will need to
use, eg:
Hi.
Anything else?
Here you are.
Bye.

• Ask the customers to buy the
items on their shopping lists.
Make sure they use

Instructions
• Give a copy of the puzzle to
each student. Ask them to look
at the pictures and circle the
correct word in the questions.
Check the answers with the
whole class.
• Now ask students to look at
the pictures again and decide
what colour these objects are
normally. They should write
the names of the colours in the
crossword.
• Ask students to compare their
answers with a classmate and
check the solution with the
whole class.
