on a Great Steam Age Adventure set in the world of Castle Falkenstein.

the Lycée de Paris, that foolish English aristocrat Lord Kelvin, even crazy Tesla in Russia:
all of them scoffed at my work. But soon they shall see that my talent is greater than any
of theirs as I bring their petty empires crashing down about them. Soon all the world will
recognise my genius."
"The governments of New Europa have not paid the ransom that I demanded of them, so it
is time to reveal that my threat is no bluff. Within the hour the greatest battleship that the
world has ever known will come steaming down the Canal bound for Bombay. But this
symbol of the power and might of the British Empire will never reach India. With my
Prismatic Light Device™ (pat. pending) I shall sink the ship in the narrowest straits of the
canal, blocking all trade between New Europa and the Orient. Then they will be forced to
acquiesce to my demands: but it is no longer simply money that I want, they will be forced
to declare me the ultimate ruler of all New Europa."
"Perhaps I should take the ladies here to join my harem — willing or not — to rule beside
me in my hour of triumph. But no! I have been warned against such foolishness by my
friend Fu Manchu of China. Even within my bedchamber you would seek to thwart me,
and I cannot allow a moment of weakness to thwart my carefully laid plans. When I am
the acknowledged ruler of all New Europa, I shall have any women that I desire."

To occupy themselves while awaiting transport to take them down the Nile to an
archaeological dig site, the characters agreed to search for a missing girl in Cairo.
They had not expected the legion of white slavers, drug-crazed assassins, flying
carpets, secret agents, criminal masterminds with their infernal devices and
plans for world domination, an evil sorcerer from the Cult of the Knife with his
legions of flesh-eating
ghûls,
and an enslaved
Djinn
that they would meet as they
explored the darker side of Araby.
