Dear and Noble Heroes, since the release of
Nauagói
I was lucky enough to play it
several times, weaving like the Moirai the
threads of the destinies of heroes and
islands; but I have not yet had the
opportunity to get feedback from other
Moirai Characters. I thought that perhaps
the minimal appearance of the game could
discourage even the most willing of aspiring
MCs, and for this reason I wrote this brief
supplement in which I do the creation of an
island step by step, trying to accompany
every aspiring MC in managing a game
session.
This small supplement, called Castaways
and Islands, is intended to be an in-depth
study aimed at allowing even those
approaching Nauagói for the first time to
be able to generate and manage an island
and all the adversities that will hinder the
heroes' path. I hope it will be useful and I
look forward to your impressions and
suggestions.

When you play
Nauagói,
an island is that mysterious, fantastic and
dangerous place that allows heroes to embark on an epic adventure
and make them retrieve a transport that will take them home.
Obviously there will have to be obstacles: if the heroes woke up on
a placid fishing beach or not far from a noble city where peace and
harmony reign, they would have no problem appealing to the
sacred hospitality for finding refuge and embark on a commercial
or a fishing ship; but there would be no adventure! On the island
there is an
impediment
that will not allow the heroes to be able to
continue their journey without facing it first: it may be an adverse
will (a
powerful sorceress who does not allow anyone to escape from her
island),
an imminent danger (a
tremendous volcanic eruption),
a
character in difficulty (a
shepherd wounded by pirates who are sacking
the island)
or someone who has to complete a mission (a
soldier sent
to recover a powerful relic).
Your job as the
Moirai Character
is to weave the threads of the
destinies of the heroes and the island. It's not a difficult task: you
just need to get a
map
of the island. By map I don't mean a detailed
geographic map, but a simple description of the island, what is the
main impediment and what are the various secondary
impediments that will hinder the epic mission of the heroes.
Let's see together how to "draw" the
map
of an island.
